Andrea Goolab--Therapist in Ft Lauderdale, FL

With over six years of experience in the mental health field, I specialize in supporting individuals as they work toward improved emotional wellbeing and long-term personal growth. My approach is grounded in empathy, compassion, and collaboration, creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered.

I have successfully helped individuals identify challenges, develop effective coping strategies, and achieve meaningful treatment goals by tailoring care to each person’s unique needs. My therapeutic style emphasizes building strong rapport and fostering resilience, while supporting clients through life transitions, emotional distress, and trauma-related concerns.

I utilize evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed therapy to promote self-awareness, emotional regulation, and sustainable behavioral change. My goal is to help clients develop the tools and confidence needed to navigate challenges and enhance their overall mental wellbeing.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with you?

In our first few sessions we will focus on your history, goals and what brought you to therapy. It's ALL about you, and my job is to gather as much information so that we can create a plan that works best for you!

What makes you different from other therapists, psychologists, ARNPs?

I have worked with clients that range anywhere from 4 years old to 65 years old. I have learned to understand patterns in our childhood that shape our mental health in our adulthood. Being able to treat children from the beginning, helps to promote more prosocial, healthy adults. I enjoy working with children and learning from them, too!

What inspired you to become a therapist, psychologist or medication management provider?

As a woman, as a mother, as a veteran- I have my own personal traumatic experiences that have shaped who I am today. I wanted to become a better version of myself and now I want to help others.
