What can I expect in my first few sessions with?

In our first few sessions, we’ll focus on building a strong and supportive therapeutic alliance. I’ll take time to learn about you—your background, concerns, goals, and what brings you to therapy. You can expect a safe, non-judgmental space where you’re encouraged to speak openly and at your own pace. We’ll explore what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, and I’ll answer any questions you may have about the process. Early sessions are about understanding your story and helping you feel comfortable. Together, we’ll begin identifying patterns, challenges, and strengths that shape your experience. Therapy can be scary, especially if it's your first time, but it is a journey of empowerment that we will walk together at your own pace.

What makes you different from other therapists?

During my training in my Master’s program, I had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients—couples navigating relationship challenges, military personnel, individuals facing substance use issues, and those involved in the court system. Each of these experiences taught me something meaningful and helped me grow both personally and professionally. I came to appreciate the resilience and complexity of the people I worked with, and those moments have stayed with me. Going through my own therapy has also played a big role in shaping how I show up as a therapist—more grounded, compassionate, and open-minded.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

Counseling wasn’t where I started—I actually began my academic journey studying biology at FAU, deeply involved in research and imagining a very different future for myself. But after that degree, life had other plans. After going through my own traumas and navigating complex personal experiences, I found myself in therapy for the first time. That space—and my therapist, who I still see today—changed everything for me. I experienced firsthand the healing, strength, and resilience that can come from being truly seen and supported. It was such a powerful shift that I knew I wanted to offer that same experience to others.
