Lauren Michelle Hernandez - Therapist in Orlando, FL

Introduction

I am a Latina woman who is family-oriented and passionate about mental health. I was born and raised in Miami, and my parents are Cuban and Puerto Rican. I love spending time with my two chihuahuas, my partner, my friends, and my family.

I enjoy working with children, teens, parents, mothers, college students, emerging adults, couples, and families. My work is grounded in person-centered and child-centered approaches, allowing clients' current concerns, needs, and goals to guide our sessions.

When working with children, I help them develop the emotional awareness and skills they need to grow into healthy, resilient adults. In my work with adults, couples, and families, I support clients in understanding how past experiences and trauma may continue to affect their well-being and relationships.

I am committed to providing inclusive, affirming care that honors each client's unique identity, culture, and lived experience. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where every person feels respected, understood, and validated, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, cultural background, or neurodivergence.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with you?

In your first few sessions with me you can expect to explore different fidget toys and talk about your interests.

What makes you different from other therapists, psychologists, ARNPs?

I am wholeheartedly me. What you see is what you get with me. I am very open minded and completely non judgemental.

What inspired you to become a therapist, psychologist or medication management provider?

At the age of 15 I started seeing a therapist for anxiety and depression. That therapist changed my life for the better and a huge reason for why I am still here today. I hope that I can make a fraction of that impact on one of my clients.
