Kayla Perez - Therapist in Sunrise, FL

Hi, I’m Kayla Perez, a relational and faith-based therapist who believes healing happens when people feel truly seen, heard,  known, and supported. I am passionate about helping clients discover, process, and heal the wounds they carry so they can live more fully—not just to survive, but to thrive. I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, relational concerns, self-image issues, and family conflict. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative, while also gently challenging clients toward deeper personal and relational growth. In our work together, you can expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where you are encouraged to show up just as you are. My hope is that every person who walks into my office experiences the care, understanding, and healing they’ve been seeking.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with?

In our initial sessions, you can expect a safe, supportive space where we focus on building trust and a strong therapeutic relationship. Together, we’ll explore the concerns that bring you to therapy, including patterns, fears, and attachment wounds rooted in past experiences or relationships. We’ll identify attachment needs and develop practical skills, such as emotional regulation, communication, and coping strategies, to meet those needs. As we work together, you’ll begin building an internal and external support system to strengthen you while we process deeper emotions and beliefs that shape your perspective and experiences.

What makes you different from other therapists?

I’m a well-rounded therapist who has had the privilege of working with clients of all ages, backgrounds, and life experiences. I’ve supported individuals and families facing a wide range of concerns, and am grateful to have learned something from everyone who’s walked into my therapy room. I believe that each person already carries the inner strengths they need for healing—sometimes we just need support in uncovering them. In our work together, healing doesn’t have to be limited to emotional or mental well-being alone. If it’s important to you, we can also explore spiritual growth as part of your journey. I have experience in Christian counseling and am happy to incorporate faith-based practices at your request. I’ve seen how meaningful and transformative it can be when emotional, relational, and spiritual healing are supported together.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

My inspiration comes from a passion for helping others heal from life challenges and provide a safe and inclusive environment for healing.
