Atia Hossain - Therapist in Davie, FL

Introduction

Hi! My name is Atia, and I am a proud person of color passionate about helping others navigate life’s challenges. I work with adults, teens, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stress, or major life transitions. Creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel seen, heard, and understood is at the heart of my work. I believe healing begins when we no longer face struggles alone. My role is to walk alongside you with compassion and care, helping you explore challenges — within yourself or in your relationships — while encouraging growth and resilience. I am deeply committed to breaking the stigma around mental health and raising awareness about the importance of seeking support. I believe everyone has the ability to heal, grow, and create the life they want. Offering kindness, guidance, and encouragement as clients move forward on their journey is what inspires me every day.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with?

In our first few sessions, my hope is that you feel safe, supported, and free from judgment. Coming to therapy takes so much courage, and I truly admire you for taking this step for yourself. These sessions are your space to share what feels right, at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out—we can gently explore things together. My role is simply to be alongside you, to listen, and to support you as you begin your healing journey.

What makes you different from other therapists?

What makes me different from other therapists is that I’m here to walk alongside you, not just guide you. Coming to therapy takes courage, and I want you to feel truly seen, heard, and understood in a space that’s safe and nonjudgmental. I focus on meeting you where you are and supporting you in a way that honors your pace, your strengths, and what matters most to you. My approach is caring and flexible, giving you room to reflect, explore, and grow without pressure. Many clients tell me they feel supported, empowered, and understood in our sessions. For me, therapy isn’t about following a rigid method—it’s about being present with you, listening, and helping you navigate your path toward healing and self-discovery.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

What inspired me to become a therapist comes from my own experiences. I know how intimidating therapy can feel, and I’ve often wished for a safe, nonjudgmental space to just be heard. I see so many people struggling or wanting support, and being able to create that kind of space and offer genuine compassion means a lot to me. I love helping people feel understood, supported, and empowered, and walking alongside them as they navigate life’s challenges. I find it really meaningful to witness people heal, grow, and step more fully into themselves!
