Violeta Sanchez - Therapist in Port Orange

My name is Violeta, and I am a licensed therapist who works with adults navigating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, mood and thought disorders, life transitions, stress, and self-esteem.

My background includes working with adults across various levels of care, including residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and psychosocial rehabilitation. I use a warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative approach to therapy, creating a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I integrate empathy with practical, evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, and ACT to support clients in building insight, strengthening coping skills, and creating meaningful, lasting change. My work is centered on helping clients feel more confident, grounded, and empowered in their day-to-day lives.

As a heritage Spanish speaker, I'm able to also connect and communicate in Spanish while integrating English as needed for clinical terms. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, working out, cooking, and spending time with loved ones.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with you?

In our first few sessions, we’ll focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll explore your current concerns, relevant history, and what you hope to gain from the process. I’ll help you start making sense of what’s going on and introduce strategies you can begin using right away. My approach is supportive and collaborative, while also being honest and direct when needed.

What makes you different from other therapists?

I create a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, while also being direct and intentional about helping you move forward. I’m not just here to listen—I’m here to help you better understand your patterns and actively work through them. My experience across multiple levels of care has allowed me to support clients through a wide range of challenges, from more intensive needs to everyday stressors. I also focus on making therapy feel practical and relevant, offering tools and perspectives that you can apply outside of sessions. As a Latina therapist and heritage Spanish speaker, I value being able to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and bring cultural awareness into the work we do together.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

I was inspired to become a therapist through a deep interest in understanding people and a desire to support others during difficult moments in their lives. What’s kept me in this field is seeing the impact that a supportive, honest therapeutic relationship can have. I value being able to walk alongside clients as they gain insight, build resilience, and begin to feel more like themselves again.
