Darlene Riveron, LMHC - Therapist in Pembroke Pines, FL

Introduction

Hello! First off I want to say how brave you are for being here. I know the journey of finding someone to talk to can seem scary or even produce some feelings of anxiety but with me, you are in charge of your own journey!

My name is Darlene Riveron and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. I was born and raised in Miami, FL and I’m a proud Latina. I am fluent in English and Spanish and what we call in Miami: Spanglish. I am a proud Frenchie dog momma and I enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures in my free time. I attended Nova Southeastern University (Go Sharks!) where I graduated with my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2021.

Together as a team, we will identify triggers, work on self-awareness, and create a tailored plan to help cope with daily and past struggles. I have worked in various settings including schools, classrooms, virtual therapy, community mental health centers, and private practice. My experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, school-related issues, stress, self-esteem issues, adjustment disorders, life transitions, and family conflicts.

I am here to support you and guide you to your goals and can help you use strategies to navigate your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical reactions more effectively. You are not alone in this journey.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with?

In our first few sessions, you can expect us to focus on building rapport and creating a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable sharing. We’ll take time to get to know each other, exploring your goals, values, and what brings you to therapy. My role is to listen with empathy and understanding, while also beginning to understand your unique story and experiences. These early sessions are about laying the foundation for our therapeutic relationship, so we can establish trust and collaboration. Together, we’ll set the stage for meaningful growth, healing, and progress in the work ahead.

What makes you different from other therapists?

What makes me different is my warm, kind, and relatable approach. I believe therapy should feel like a supportive, judgment-free space where you can truly be yourself. I meet you exactly where you are, moving at your pace while gently encouraging growth and positive change. My focus is on understanding your unique experiences and walking alongside you in the process, rather than pushing you too quickly. Clients often share that they feel genuinely heard, accepted, and supported in our work together. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where healing and transformation can naturally unfold.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

What inspired me to become a therapist was my own experience with therapy and the growth it brought into my life. Having been on the client side, I know firsthand how powerful it can be to feel heard, supported, and guided through challenges. That journey deeply motivated me to help others experience the same healing and transformation. I love seeing people grow from where they begin to the progress and strength they build along the way. Being able to walk alongside someone in their journey, witnessing their resilience and growth, is what truly inspires and fuels my work.
