Irina Prokopovich - Therapist in Port Orange, FL

I am an integrative therapist, fluent in English and Russian, providing therapy to individuals ages 12 – 90 who struggle with mental health issues, including addiction, mood disorders like depression, anxiety, life transitions, and trauma for example, PTSD, adjustment, disrupted attachment. Connecting with people in a way that provides a space for them to be seen and heard has always been an important part of my profession relationships, from my initial work as a family advocate and parent educator to psychotherapist. I have experience working with child and adult survivors of sexual trauma, domestic violence, and with adolescents in residential care for mental health and substance use. My main goal is to meet the client where they are and provide a space that will be conducive to their healing, growth, and an increase in quality of life through holistic care.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with you?

You can expect to identify your strengths and challenges and create a comprehensive plan that will help you take the next steps in your journey towards healing.

What makes you different from other therapists, psychologists, ARNPs?

I strongly believe in a holistic approach to care, with a partnership to address mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of health. I take the time to get to know you and understand your needs.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

I became a therapist because I came from a community that had limited mental health services and stigmatized any mental health needs. In my professional roles, prior to becoming a therapist, I found myself filling needs of mental health through empathizing and advocacy, weather with young parents, transitioning adolescents into adulthood, family and relational conflict resolution, and providing support through grief and loss. I came to realize that I love coming along people and helping through difficult life transitions.
