Gabriel Benaim - Therapist in Pembroke Pines, FL

Introduction

My name is Gabriel Benaim, LMHC, and I am a licensed psychotherapist dedicated to helping adolescents and adults navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and psychosomatic symptoms. I work with individuals who often understand their struggles intellectually but feel stuck emotionally.

My approach is relational, insight-oriented, and grounded in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based interventions. I focus on understanding how early experiences, attachment patterns, and life stressors shape present-day emotional responses. Together, we work not only to manage symptoms but to create meaningful and lasting change.

I provide therapy in both English and Spanish and strive to create a culturally sensitive, safe, and collaborative space where clients feel understood and empowered.

For clients who value faith or spirituality, I am comfortable integrating those dimensions into therapy when desired. Whether you identify as religious, spiritual, questioning, or not at all, your beliefs and worldview are respected and thoughtfully explored as part of your overall growth.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with you?

In our first sessions, we focus on building a strong therapeutic foundation. We clarify what is bringing you in, explore relevant personal history, and begin identifying emotional and behavioral patterns that may be contributing to your current challenges.

You can expect a calm, structured, and collaborative environment. My goal is for you to feel safe, respected, and supported while also gaining clarity and direction. Therapy with me is not just about talking. It is about understanding, integrating, and moving forward.

What makes you different from other therapists?

I bring both clinical training and lived therapeutic experience into the room. Having spent years in therapy myself, I understand the vulnerability required to truly do this work. That perspective allows me to approach clients with empathy while maintaining clarity and direction.

I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma-informed frameworks, mindfulness, and an understanding of the mind-body connection. I pay close attention to how anxiety and emotional stress manifest physically, helping clients reconnect with both their thoughts and their bodies.

Clients often describe my style as warm but direct, thoughtful yet practical. I balance insight with action so that therapy feels meaningful and effective.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

My path began on the other side of the couch. Therapy profoundly changed my life. It helped me untangle patterns I did not know I was carrying and gave me the tools to grow beyond them.

What inspires me most is witnessing people reclaim their agency. Therapy offers the opportunity to move from surviving to living intentionally. I became a therapist to help others experience that same clarity, healing, and transformation.
