Menachem Dahan--Therapist in Pembroke Pines, FL

Hi, I'm Menachem. I'm a therapist based in South Florida, and I care about the moments when life asks us tolook at ourselves a little more closely. I'm drawn to the questions underneath the struggle: who am I, whatdo I want, and how do I get there?

I work with adults, teens, and couples facing anxiety, questions of identity and sense of self, relationshipstress, and life transitions. Whether you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or simply sense that something needs tochange, I'll help you make sense of what's happening and find a way forward.

Working with me, you can expect a warm, honest, collaborative space where you're heard without judgment.I draw on DBT, EFT, person-centered, and psychodynamic approaches, and I tailor them to you rather thanfitting you into a formula. I see clients in person and by telehealth.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with you?

Our first session is mostly about getting to know each other. I'll ask about what brought you in, what's beengoing on lately, and what you're hoping will change. There's no pressure to tell me everything at once, andyou can go at your own pace. Over the next couple of sessions, we'll start to map out what's underneathwhat you're feeling. Together we'll clarify your goals and decide how we want to work, so it feels tailored toyou and not a one-size-fits-all approach. By the end of the first few sessions, you should have a clearersense of what's happening, a plan for moving forward, and a feel for whether we're a good fit. Fit matters, and I'd rather you feel at ease than push through with someone who isn't right for you.

What makes you different from other therapists, psychologists, ARNPs?

Some professionals focus on diagnosis and testing, others on medication. My focus is the conversationitself. I don't rush to label what you're going through. I'm more interested in understanding it: how you seeyourself, how you relate to the people around you, and what's underneath the patterns you keep running into.I look at the whole person, not just the symptoms. Anxiety, relationship stress, and big life changes usuallyconnect to deeper questions about identity and what you want your life to look like. That's where I like towork. I also don't rely on a single method. I blend DBT, EFT, person-centered, and psychodynamicapproaches, so you get practical tools for the moment and space to understand the bigger picture.

What inspired you to become a therapist, psychologist or medication management provider?

I've always been fascinated by what makes people tick: why we feel what we feel, and why it can be so hardto change patterns we can clearly see. Over time I realized the most meaningful part of that curiosity wassitting with someone while they figure it out. I became a therapist because I believe people deserve a spacewhere they can be fully honest and fully heard, often for the first time. Watching someone go from feelingstuck to understanding themselves more clearly, and then acting on it, is what keeps me in this work.
