Katherine Medina, LMHC - Therapist in Pembroke Pines, FL

Introduction

My name is Katherine Medina, and I am a LMHC and a therapist who desires to help you achieve life fulfillment and true happiness. I am bilingual (English & Spanish) and graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Everyone’s journey is different and unique but with support everyone can strive for change and growth. My experience includes working with adolescents, and adults who have experienced anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, suicidal ideation, school related issues, stress, self-esteem related issues, adjustment disorder, and family conflicts.

It takes great courage and commitment to ask for help and support. As a therapist, I aim to provide a nurturing, safe and non-judgmental environment where you can feel comfortable going through your healing journey. I look forward to building a client-counselor relationship and seeing you strive through your journey!

What can I expect in my first few sessions with?

In our first few sessions, the focus is on getting to know you, your story, what brings you to therapy, and what you’re hoping to gain from our work together. This is a space where you don’t have to have everything figured out. We’ll move at your pace, exploring your concerns with curiosity and compassion, not pressure or judgment

What makes you different from other therapists?

While I draw from evidence-based modalities, I don't believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. I take time to truly understand the context of your life so that our work feels relevant, respectful, and meaningful to you. I'm not here to “fix” you, my goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where trust can grow and real, and meaningful work can begin.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

I became a therapist because I genuinely enjoy helping people. There’s something deeply meaningful to me about being present with someone as they navigate challenges, ask hard questions, or begin to understand themselves in new ways. I’ve always found purpose in supporting others by walking alongside them as they move toward clarity, healing, and growth.
