What can I expect in my first few sessions with?

In our first session we will map out what brings you in, what you would like to change, and what success would look like for you. I will review relevant history, current stressors, medical and family context, and any previous treatment. If coming in for therapy, we will work together to set specific goals and agree on a plan that may include skills practice, cognitive challenging and between-session exercises. For those needing a diagnostic evaluation, we begin with a focused intake to clarify your questions and goals for testing, review prior records, and discuss consent, confidentiality, and how results will be used. I then design a targeted assessment plan that may include standardized rating scales, performance-based measures, behavioral observations, and collateral input from parents, partners, teachers, or physicians when appropriate. Testing sessions are structured to minimize fatigue and to capture your best performance. Afterward, I integrate all data, including validity checks, into a clear formulation that addresses differential diagnoses. You will receive feedback that explains findings in plain language, a written report with diagnostic impressions and practical recommendations for school, work, treatment, and daily life.

What makes you different from other psychologists?

I combine the depth of therapy with the precision of assessment. My background includes specialized training in neuropsychology and extensive experience with psychological and forensic evaluations. This means I translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. I integrate structured, research-based interventions with compassionate, real-world coaching. Clients often tell me they appreciate my balance of warmth, directness, and a focused plan that connects session insights to everyday life.

What inspired you to become a psychologist?

I have always been drawn to how our thoughts shape our emotions and choices, and to the possibility of real change when we learn new ways of thinking and relating. Early in my training I saw how evidence-based skills and clear assessment feedback could reduce suffering and restore hope. That commitment guides my work today: to meet each client with empathy, clarity, and practical strategies that help them live well despite life’s uncertainties.
