Rachel Pittell, PMHNP

Introduction

Hi, I am Rachel Pittell and I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I’m someone who values genuine connection, open communication, and creating a safe space where people can feel seen and heard. My approach is grounded, compassionate, and collaborative—I truly believe healing happens when we work together.

I work with adults, teens, and children facing challenges such as anxiety, trauma, relationship stress, and life transitions. I also support individuals navigating identity-related questions, self-esteem struggles, and the lingering effects of past experiences.

Clients who work with me can expect a nonjudgmental, supportive environment where we'll move at your pace. I offer a balanced approach that includes both talk-based strategies and thoughtful medication management. My goal is to help you feel more stable, empowered, and in control of your mental health.

I'm passionate about being part of this team because I believe in its mission of accessible, quality care—and I’m inspired by the heart and dedication behind the work we do every day.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with?

In our first few sessions, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and respected. We'll take time to get to know each other and discuss your concerns, history, and goals. I’ll also gather information to help guide your care. Whether you're new to mental health treatment or have previous experience, we'll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

What makes you different from other PMHNP?

I approach my work with deep compassion and a genuine commitment to each individual I work with. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I bring both medical knowledge and a strong therapeutic presence to our sessions. I take a holistic view of mental health, considering not just symptoms but the whole person. My care is collaborative and patient-centered. I believe in empowering you to take an active role in your care and well-being. Many of my clients say they appreciate how seen and supported they feel in our work together.

What inspired you to become a medication management provider?

I was inspired to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner by a deep desire to make a meaningful, positive impact in people’s lives. I've always been passionate about mental health and the importance of emotional well-being, and I’ve seen firsthand how powerful compassionate care can be. A big part of what drives me is a strong commitment to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health by helping others feel seen, understood, and unashamed of their struggles. Being able to support individuals through their healing process and watch them grow stronger and more empowered is one of the most fulfilling parts of what I do.
