Neil Schwartz - Licensed Psychologist in Davie, FL

Hi, I’m Dr. Neil Schwartz, a licensed psychologist specializing in anxiety, mood disorders, and trauma. I completed advanced training in trauma-focused care at the Corey Thomas VA Hospital and earned my PsyD from Nova Southeastern University. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you can heal from the past, manage stress, and reconnect with your strengths. I also offer LGBTQ+ affirmative care, with a focus on supporting gay men in navigating relationships, exploring identity, and creating more authentic, fulfilling lives

Using evidence-based therapies (EPB) and guided exercises, I’ll help you break free from old patterns, heal past wounds, and build healthier connections. Together we’ll create space for growth, balance, and a renewed sense of self so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

I provide a safe, supportive space to share your story, work through emotional pain, and rebuild trust in yourself and others. Whether you’re healing from trauma or seeking a renewed sense of control and purpose, my goal is to help you move forward and create a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with you?

In our first few sessions, we’ll work together to develop a clear understanding of what’s bringing you in and create a treatment plan that feels accurate and meaningful to you. I often ask, “If therapy were to work, what would be different?” because that helps us define your goals and focus on the changes that matter most to you.

What makes you different from other psychologists?

I believe meaningful change happens through both a strong therapeutic relationship and the use of evidence-based treatment. My approach blends proven strategies with a genuine, collaborative connection so clients feel understood, supported, and challenged in helpful ways. I also offer consultations so we can determine whether we’re a good fit. If it doesn’t feel like the right match, I do my best to help connect you with a provider who better fits your needs.

What inspired you to become a psychologist?

I was inspired to become a psychologist by a deep interest in understanding human behavior, healing, and resilience. I’ve always been drawn to the ways people can grow through adversity when given the right support and tools. Over time, that interest became a passion for helping others navigate trauma, anxiety, identity concerns, and life transitions. My training and research further strengthened that path, particularly my work examining mental health disparities and trauma among underserved communities. Becoming a psychologist allowed me to combine science, compassion, and meaningful connection in a way that helps people move toward fuller and more authentic lives.
