Laken Hibbitts, Therapist in Port Orange, FL

I am an eternal optimist with a heartfelt passion for caring for others, something that has been part of who I am for as long as I can remember. I feel deeply honored to walk alongside people as they learn to cope, heal, and reconnect with themselves. Supporting clients in regulating their nervous systems and building effective coping strategies is not just my work, but my greatest joy.

I primarily work with children, teens, and families, while also supporting individuals across the lifespan. There is nothing more meaningful to me than witnessing the moment when hope returns and the light begins to shine again after life’s many transitions and challenges.

My areas of focus include ADHD, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, and oppositional or conduct-related concerns. I approach therapy through a strengths-based, trauma-informed CBT lens, thoughtfully integrating somatic practices to help clients move out of “fight or flight” and into a place of safety, balance, and genuine enjoyment of life.

Whether you are experiencing that first breakup, adjusting to life as a first-time parent, or navigating the grief of losing a loved one, I believe that with compassion, truth, and understanding, healing is always possible. I am truly excited and grateful to be part of Caring Therapist and its mission to enhance lives through authentic care, connection, and dedication.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with you?

I am a warm, compassionate therapist who works with teens, parents, and families to navigate the challenges of everyday life. I believe that meaningful change happens when clients feel understood, supported, and empowered, and I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where individuals and families can explore their experiences without judgment. My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), helping clients understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical skills to manage stress, anxiety, and life transitions. I also incorporate somatic approaches, supporting clients in tuning into their bodies to build awareness, regulate emotions, and strengthen coping skills in a way that feels accessible and effective.

What makes you different from other therapists?

What makes me different as a therapist is that I lead with genuine care and heart. My work is grounded in a deep love for people and a belief that therapy is about more than reducing symptoms—it’s about helping individuals and families build lives that support growth, resilience, and long-term well-being. I integrate evidence-based CBT with somatic approaches, supporting clients in understanding their thoughts while also listening to their bodies and developing practical, everyday coping skills. I show up as a warm, relatable, and human therapist, creating a collaborative space where teens, parents, and families feel truly seen, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

I became a therapist because I experienced trauma and mental health challenges as a child and teen, and I know firsthand how difficult it can be to feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or alone. What changed my life was having someone truly show up for me. Someone who listened, cared, and believed in my ability to heal. That experience inspired a deep desire to be that person for others.
