Eliana Balk Moore--Therapist in Hollywood, FL

I specialize in supporting the full spectrum of adult mental health concerns from anxiety and depression, to grief and loss, to major life transitions. In particular, I am passionate about women’s health issues, including infertility , perinatal health, postpartum mood disorders, and perimenopause; as well as supporting individuals and families who are coping with the stressors of a chronic illness; and individuals and couples who are navigating relationship and sexuality concerns.

Our work together is tailored to your needs. Some sessions may focus primarily on talking through your experiences, while others may involve learning and practicing specific skills to support your goals. As a therapist,  I consider it a privilege to hold a safe and compassionate space for clients through some of their most vulnerable moments.

My own life experiences, including surviving birth trauma, moving to a new state as a young adult, and returning to graduate school while raising young children, have shown me firsthand that growth is possible even through hard transitions. These experiences inform my work, allowing me to meet clients with empathy, authenticity, and an understanding of the courage it takes to navigate change. I aim to support clients in discovering their own resilience and creating meaningful shifts in their lives.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with you?

The first session is always an intake, designed to get a broad picture of who you are as a person. I’ll ask questions about your background, what your life looks like right now, what brought you to therapy, and what goals you hope to achieve. This helps me understand your needs and set the foundation for our work together. Subsequent sessions are 45-60 minutes and typically begin with a review of how the past week has gone, including any homework or practice we discussed. From there, the session is guided by your needs—some clients may need space to talk and process, others may focus on practicing difficult conversations, and some may complete exercises or activities targeting specific skills, such as mindfulness or gratitude. This time is yours, and I aim to make every session feel meaningful, satisfying, and tailored to your unique goals.

What makes you different from other therapists, psychologists, ARNPs?

As a registered therapeutic yoga teacher, I have a unique lens and expertise into the "bottom up" effect our thoughts and emotions have on our body. I bring this awareness and my expertise in the mindfulness field into my sessions.

What inspired you to become a therapist, psychologist or medication management provider?

I have always been fascinated by the mind and love exploring each person’s unique perspective, understanding their motivations, and connecting on a deeper level than what we typically encounter in day-to-day life. My journey began with studying psychology in college, which eventually led me to the yoga world, where I worked as a therapeutic yoga instructor. Over time, I realized that what I truly loved was speaking with clients and hearing their stories more than teaching the poses. This realization inspired me to shift my focus fully to talk psychotherapy, where I could support people in meaningful, personal ways.
