What can I expect in my first few sessions with?

In our first few sessions together, we’ll focus on getting to know you, understanding what brought you to therapy, and clarifying your goals. The first session is mostly an intake. I’ll ask about your background, current challenges, and what you hope to gain from counseling. I’ll also explain how I work, review confidentiality, and answer any questions you have.

From there, we’ll start exploring patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and begin identifying practical strategies to help you cope more effectively. Early on, I may introduce tools such as mindfulness, CBT, or other approaches that fit your needs, along with optional exercises between sessions. The goal is to build trust, set a strong foundation, and start giving you strategies you can use in daily life.

What makes you different from other therapists?

I prioritize real-world practicality and creativity — whether that means concrete behavior changes, short between-session experiments, or hands-on plans for parenting, perinatal stress, grief, or life transitions.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

I was drawn to therapy by a desire to combine science and compassion to help people solve real problems. I’m motivated by helping clients identify patterns, learn practical skills (CBT, ACT, mindfulness), and set achievable goals. My work is collaborative, pragmatic, and focused on building resilience and meaningful change.
