Marissa “Mars” Sorce - Therapist in Port Orange, FL

Hi, I'm Mars! In working with me my goal is to help you feel seen and understood—to offer the support, comfort, and encouragement you need to get through difficult moments. Life can knock us down unexpectedly, whether in the present or the past, and therapy can provide a steady place to navigate those challenges. Come find a cozy spot on the couch, and let’s talk. If you’re struggling with gender identity, sexuality, coming out, family dynamics, or anything connected to the LGBTQIA+ experience, I’m here to sit with you in the discomfort and help you move toward your most authentic self, even in the face of adversity. I draw from Narrative Therapy to help you shape the life you want to live and the story you want to tell. Have you lost a loved one, a job, a relationship, or find yourself stuck in the aftermath of a meaningful event? Grief can feel overwhelming, confusing, and cyclical—often leaving you wondering, “Is this normal? Why aren’t I over this yet?” I take a compassionate, grounded approach to help individuals, couples, and families identify the root of their pain and gently uncover the healing that can emerge over time.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with?

In your first few sessions, I want to get to know you and your support system and how you feel stuck or burdened. I assess couples together and indiviudally to determine what will work best as we move forward therapeutically. I desire good conversation and maybe a little creativity along the way.

What makes you different from other therapists?

I am warm, relatable, directive and willing to always meet my client where they are. I adapt and custom tailor my apporach to fit each client, couple, or families needs through thorough assessment.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

I want to be the adult I needed as a kid and support families who have had children complete suicide.
