Priya Nair - Therapist in Sunrise, FL

Introduction

My name is Priya Nair, and I’m dedicated to creating a space where you can exhale, feel safe, and just be yourself. If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply needing someone to talk to—I want you to know you're not alone. I work with children, teens, and adults, offering support through life’s many challenges. Whether it’s anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, behavioral difficulties, or something you can’t quite put into words, I’ll meet you with care, curiosity, and no judgment.

My approach is grounded in compassion, with the option to include faith as a source of hope, resilience, and deeper connection—if that’s meaningful to you.

You don’t have to have everything figured out. You just have to show up and I’ll meet you there, right where you are.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with?

In our first few sessions, you can expect a safe, open, and supportive space where you feel truly heard and understood. I work at your pace, with no pressure, just a welcoming environment where we can explore what matters most to you. I bring a warm, compassionate, and down-to-earth approach, and I aim to create a space where you or your child can feel comfortable, seen, and supported from day one.

What makes you different from other therapists?

I work with children, teens, and young adults, and I understand that each stage of life brings its own challenges. Whether it's managing big emotions, navigating friendships or school stress, or working through anxiety, identity, or life transitions, I meet clients where they are—with patience, empathy, and respect. I draw from several approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and play therapy, depending on age and needs. Whether we’re addressing anxiety, social skills, behavioral concerns, ADHD, depression, or relationship issues, I tailor my approach to support meaningful and lasting growth. Clients often share that they appreciate how approachable, honest, and grounded our sessions feel.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

My path to becoming a therapist is deeply rooted in my own life experiences. I know what it feels like to need someone, a safe, nonjudgmental presence, to help make sense of life’s challenges. When I finally found that support for myself, it was truly transformative. That experience inspired me to become the kind of therapist I once needed, someone who listens deeply, supports without judgment, and walks alongside you through the hard parts of life. It’s a privilege to hold that space for others now, and to offer guidance, encouragement, and hope along the way.
